Secure Data Destruction

When it comes to the handling and disposal of your data, security is everything. At PC Survivors, we ensure that your sensitive information is safe by observing strict adherence to protocols outlined in HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and all other major national and international standards. We take great pride in our R2/RIOS certification status and NAID membership. Every year, we are independently audited to ensure our data destruction methods are current. Our commitment to excellence, attention to client experience and exceptional value have helped position us as the go-to secure data destruction company in Massachusetts, New England and throughout the United States.

Other qualities that denote a first-rate secure data destruction company are transparency and accountability. We exemplify both by tracking your items during each step of our 7 step process. From the moment your materials are placed into locked containers and loaded on our GPS enabled trucks to their final deconstruction, individually serialized barcodes are used to record their progress and create a legal chain of custody. Every detail is included in your Certificate of Destruction.

Secure Data

Every client is unique. We consult directly with you to create and implement a custom data destruction plan that reflects your unique goals. This is a refreshing change of pace for anyone who has dealt with a secure data destruction company that applies a one-size-fits-all style approach. For corporate clients, we often recommend both physical hard drive data shredding and kill disk hard drive erasure. While the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual recommends the latter in their 5220.22-M manual, we offer both in conjunction or separately based on your discretion. These processes can be performed off-site or at your facility for maximum security.

What is R2 RIOS?

RIOS or R2/RIOS certification is the highest, most responsible standard in recycling. Our team’s strict adherence to practices outlined in these certifications protects your company from data theft and privacy infringements while maintaining safety and environmental consciousness. R2/RIOS meets numerous international standards – allowing us to effectively serve businesses, government agencies and military entities worldwide.

E-Waste Recycling

In the US, over 2.9 million tons of electronics are disposed of each year with only 20% ending up being recycled according to the EPA. Unfortunately, the other 80% usually ends up in landfills. More than 300 million computers and 2 billion smartphones were manufactured in 2014 but the rare and precious metals necessary to manufacture these devices is in limited supply. We help companies in the Boston area, throughout Massachusetts and beyond manage e-scrap responsibly and preserve the environment while enhancing worker safety, the economy and their bottom lines.

Electronics Disposal Process

We strictly adhere to all proper electronics recycling compliance methods and protocols such as Gramm Leach Bliley and HIPAA. PC Survivors will assure that all materials are handled in full compliance with State and Federal regulations. We guarantee that all customer requests for proper disposal, handling, and/or disposition will be honored. For example, these requests may include data and hardware destruction, asset tag removal and redeployment of material. PC Survivors ensures that all materials are disposed of in an environmentally safe and responsible manner.
